Web Design
Sites that are currently live include:
QUB BJJ - This is the website for the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu club at Queen's University Belfast. The club required a site to provide information to current and potential members, with the aim of attracting new students and helping build a community. I built this site around a phpBB forum, integrating it into the design of the webiste and providing an easy way of adding news items through posts on the forum. These posts are replicated to the main page of the site. This has been very successful in meeting the aims set, and continues to be very active with over 100 members.
BJJ.ie - The aim of BJJ.ie is to serve as an information resource about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) on the island of Ireland. Information on competitions and events had been spread across many sites, making if difficult to keep track of what was going on. With BJJ.ie, BJJ practitioners have a dedicated site to go to for this latest information. The site is built around WordPress, with a customised theme and specially-built belt-list section which holds information on all ranker BJJ players. The site has been successful in providing a place for competitions to be advertised and results to be posted, and has attracted viewers from across the globe.
Recoil CS:S - This is the site for the series of Counter-Strike:Source tournaments I organised from 2005 to 2008. The site uses a custom Content Management System (CMS) which enables news items to be added and updated easily. The site now serves as an archive of the tournaments.
